Chaotic pendulum with support
Function
Intended for experimental study, physics laboratory work, and conducting physics experiments on: Engineering, Physics, Dynamics, Nonlinear dynamical systems, The double pendulum, chaotic pendulum, What is meant by chaotic pendulum, Some properties of the chaotic pendulum, Examples of chaotic systems in nature, Identifying chaotic motions with slightly different initial conditions, Chaotic systems, Motion in two dimensions with a chaotic pendulum. This demonstrates the behavior of a chaotic system based on the operation of a double pendulum with an intermediate articulation, where constant changes due to perturbations in the initial condition of the motion in a random system are observed. It allows the observation of variation in both the frequency of the motion and the type of trajectory described by the free end. The double pendulum is one of the most paradigmatic systems exhibiting chaotic behavior and, one of the main aspects of this behavior, sensitivity to initial conditions. The equations governing its motion can be obtained using the Lagrangian formalism.
